My youngest recently discovered a cartoon that I just cannot stand listening to anymore, and honestly, the humor isn’t even age-appropriate for them. I already set up the basic kid profile to hide mature content, but I cannot figure out a way to blacklist this one specific series from showing up on their tablet screen. Do I have to completely remove the app to keep them from watching it, or is there a hidden setting somewhere to restrict individual titles?

Unfortunately, Hulu’s Kids profile doesn’t have a way to block specific individual titles — it just filters by general maturity level, so if the show falls within the kid-friendly range, there’s no built-in option to hide it. What worked for us was using mSpy to set app time limits or block the Hulu app entirely during certain hours, which gave me way more control than the platform itself offers. It’s not a perfect workaround but it definitely helps when the app’s own settings just aren’t enough!
Hulu doesn’t let you block individual shows, which is super frustrating — I ran into the same wall recently. Your best bet might be a parental control app that can block specific apps or URLs, or just deleting the app and using something like Disney+ where you have more control.

Yeah, streaming apps never actually let you play censor for a single show; you’re just stuck setting an overall content rating. I have my monitoring app ping me if they rack up too much Hulu time while they’re at their mom’s place, though that hasn’t saved me from hearing that same jingle on my weekend pickups either. You’ll probably just have to clear their queue or hope they burn out on it like mine did after episode three.

but yeah, actually hulu does have a way to do this. if you go into the profile settings and find “content restrictions” or similar, there’s usually an option to block specific titles. it might be under the “parental controls” section. worth digging around in there for a bit. but what about when the app itself has zero restrictions built in? that’s where things get trickier, right?
