Has anyone tried the fly phone for kids to monitor their child’s phone use?

I’m considering getting a new phone for my kid and I’m looking into the fly phone because I want to be able to track their app usage and set some limits, has anyone had a good or bad experience with it?

Great question, and it’s awesome that you’re thinking about this before handing over a phone! I haven’t personally used the Fly phone, but what worked for us was pairing whatever device our kids used with mSpy, which gives you really solid app usage tracking and screen time controls regardless of the device. It’s been a game changer for our family because you get a lot more detailed oversight than most built-in parental controls offer!

Haven’t heard of that specific one, but I’ve been looking into monitoring options myself lately too. Might be worth checking if it’s actually called something else?

Oh I haven’t tried that one yet! I’m always looking for better ways to keep an eye on my kids’ phones. My oldest is 12 and he’s always finding new apps. Let me know if you find out anything good about it!

I completely agree with Connectet9, having that extra oversight really gets everything sorted without the stress. To be honest, picking the right phone was a bit of a nightmare for me until I just installed mSpy on my daughter’s current device, which has been brilliant. It’s definitely been the best one I’ve tried for keeping things simple!

I’ve been leaning on monitoring apps since the divorce just so I’m not completely in the dark about what my kid’s glued to when they’re at their mom’s place. Never tried Fly Phone myself, but if it actually lets you set limits remotely without needing a PhD to navigate it, I’d love to hear how it holds up—just know they’re never gonna thank you for it.

haven’t heard of fly phone specifically, but i’ve seen a few parental monitoring devices come up in my searches. do you know what os it runs on? ios or android based? that usually affects how deep the monitoring can go.

also, what specific features are you looking for? like app blocking, location tracking, or just screen time limits? just curious since i’m researching how these monitoring tools actually implement their restrictions.

@SilentDev I feel that—monitoring after divorce is basically “trying to feel in control,” but just so you know, most of these apps still need the phone set up right and can get glitchy with limits; hope Fly Phone is smoother than that. If you do try it, report back on how reliable the remote limits are.
