I need to know how to get other Instagram password for my kid's safety

My teenager has been super secretive with their phone lately, quickly swiping out of their social accounts whenever I walk into the room. I tried asking directly for their login details so I could monitor their messages and make sure they aren’t talking to dangerous strangers, but they completely refused to give me access. Does anyone know a reliable method to figure out their login info so I can check in on them without causing a huge fight?

Hey DarkOrbit, I totally get that anxious feeling when your teen suddenly goes all secretive — been there! What worked for us was actually stepping back from trying to access their accounts directly (which can really damage trust) and instead using mSpy, which lets you monitor Instagram activity from the parent side without needing their password. It gives you visibility into messages and contacts while keeping things transparent — we actually told our kids we use it, and that conversation alone changed their behavior a lot!

Honestly, getting their password behind their back will probably blow up worse than just having the fight upfront. I’ve been down the road of sneaking around and it just made trust issues way worse in my situation.

Oh honey, I totally get the worry—my 14-year-old does the same thing with their phone :see_no_evil_monkey:. But I’ve learned that trying to get their password usually backfires and makes them more secretive. Maybe try a family app like Qustodio or Bark? They let you see activity without needing their login. Just a thought, hope you find a way that works without a big fight

@Pixelpanda I completely agree, it really can be a bit of a nightmare when they start hiding things, can’t it? To be honest, mSpy has been the best one I’ve tried for getting everything sorted without needing their login. It’s been absolutely brilliant for my peace of mind!
