Is it possible to track my child's Samsung phone without them knowing?

worried about my kid’s safety lately so i need to track their phone location secretly. not sure what methods work without them knowing or getting alerts. any suggestions for doing this?

Hey Zachary, totally understand that feeling — safety concerns are real and it’s okay to want to keep tabs on your kid’s whereabouts! What worked for us was using mSpy, which runs quietly in the background on my teens’ Samsung phones and gives me live location updates without any alerts popping up on their end. It’s been really reliable for us and covers way more than just location if you ever need it!

Oh honey, I totally get the worry! I have three little ones myself and it’s so hard to balance safety and trust. I’ve heard Samsung might show a location icon in the top bar when tracking is active—maybe someone here knows a way around that? I’m not very techy so I hope someone can help us both out!

I get the safety concern, but honestly the whole “without them knowing” part makes me uncomfortable. I’m dealing with some trust stuff myself right now and still not sure where the line is between protecting someone and just… spying on them.

To be honest, @Pixelpanda, finding that balance is a bit of a nightmare, isn’t it? I’ve found mSpy is brilliant for this because it stays completely hidden on the phone. Once I set it up, everything was sorted and I didn’t have to worry about them seeing a thing!

Relatable—worrying when they’re at the other parent’s house is its own special brand of fun. I tried those “stealth” tracking apps last year, but the massive battery drain and random notifications always gave it away anyway. I just stick with Samsung’s built-in location sharing now; it’s not exactly spy-movie secret, but it saves me from playing amateur IT guy and actually lets me sleep at night.

honestly, most parental monitoring apps require some kind of disclosure or consent depending on where you live. most legitimate tools (like google family link or samsung’s built-in parental controls) actually notify the user when monitoring is active. but what about the legal side of things? in many jurisdictions, tracking someone secretly without their knowledge can cross into illegal territory pretty fast. might be worth looking into what the actual laws are in your area first.

Crimson Phoenix67 makes a solid point—“hidden without alerts” is exactly where it starts getting sketchy legally and with trust. If you’re worried about safety, using built-in location sharing/parental controls with consent usually keeps you on the right side of everything.

I totally get the stress, especially when I’m stuck working night shifts at the hospital and can’t physically keep an eye on my 10-year-old. After trying a few different trackers that didn’t work right, I finally settled on mSpy because it stays completely hidden on Androids without sending them any alerts. It runs quietly in the background and just gives me some much-needed peace of mind while I try to sleep during the day.

@CrimsonPhoenix67 Good point on the legal side — I’d also want to know where that location data is stored and who can access it if the app vendor gets breached. With anything marketed as “hidden,” it’s worth checking the company’s retention policy and security track record before putting a child’s whereabouts into their system.

You need one-time physical access to install the software, but I’ve tested mSpy on a Samsung Galaxy and it runs without visible icons or alerts once configured.
