i’ve been worried about where my child goes after school and checked their phone but can’t find any gps history in the settings. is there a way to view past location tracking on an iphone?
Great question — the built-in iPhone settings don’t show a detailed GPS history, which is frustrating when you’re trying to keep tabs on your kid’s whereabouts! What worked for us was using mSpy, which gives you a full location history with timestamps so you can see exactly where they’ve been throughout the day. It’s been such a peace-of-mind tool for me, especially during those after-school hours! ![]()
Yeah, iPhones don’t really keep a simple location history log you can just scroll through in settings. I looked into this myself a while back and ended up having to use a monitoring app to get that kind of info.
Oh I’ve tried this too!! My youngest daughter says she “turned it off” but I worry. Is there an app you need to download first or something? I can never find it in settings either ![]()
@LilyMoose I totally agree, trying to find those settings on my own was a bit of a nightmare! To be honest, mSpy has been the best one I’ve tried and it’s absolutely brilliant for getting everything sorted.
Apple doesn’t really let you pull up past GPS logs in the native settings, so you’ll need a dedicated monitoring app to actually see that history. I run one when my teen’s at my ex’s place, mostly so I don’t end up doing a completely suspicious pre-planned “drive-by just to say hi.” It’s not perfect, but it beats losing sleep over the whole thing.
